About this artwork
The oil painting "Nippes" was created during a creative frenzy by the artist, during which she worked almost non-stop for two days. This creative frenzy allows innermost feelings to be brought to the surface and onto the canvas. The painting was created driven by the depth of the colors and the mesmerizing effect of contrasts. Inspired by nocturnal impressions of the city, this expressive composition hits the core and touches the soul. The extensive…
processing of the canvas by scratching, marking, layering and removing gives the original painting a particularly exciting surface.
This is a mixed media painting. Oil, chalk and oil pastel were used. The original artwork is in intense vibrant colors of blue, green, magenta, yellow and black. The canvas stretched on a stretcher frame can be hung up immediately.

« For me, a painting is a sensual interplay of structures, colors, and shapes, taking into account the materiality of canvas and painting medium. »
