About this artwork
Intellectual openness is often seen as a sign of strength, a willingness to learn and grow, but here it is described as an "act of surrender." Yet, it is precisely this surrender that leads to liberation. When we open ourselves to new ideas, different perspectives, alternative ways of thinking, we are actually giving up something: our certainty, our comfort zone, our ego. It's a bit like saying, "I don't know everything, I don't have all the answers."… This surrender, however, is also what allows us to access new horizons, to discover new possibilities, to grow and evolve. In this sense, intellectual openness is an act of courage, not weakness. It is the courage to admit one's limitations, to question oneself, to listen and learn. And this courage leads to liberation, because it allows us to free ourselves from the chains of our beliefs, our habits, our fears.
Gabriele Poidomani, graduated in illustration, has worked in advertising publishing and as a set designer, now devotes his mastery to painting. His technique skillfully mixes the figurative and the abstract, giving life to works that encapsulate deep philosophical questions through morphology and chromatism. His art is a silent cry, an intense and powerful way of communicating the investigations of human existence.
