About this artwork
I woke up this morning and gathered a fresh bouquet of chrysanthemums from the garden to fill my home with the breath of spring. These flowers, with bright sunlit drops at their very hearts, immediately filled the room with joyful light. I placed them in my favorite vase with whimsical patterns that echo the delicate petals so beautifully. Now, this gentle still life inspires me every day and reminds me of the warmth of the first sun rays.

I, Galyna Antonenko, am an architect by training.
I studied painting for six years in the private studio of the renowned Ukrainian artist V. Sosna. I use primarily bright acrylic paints in my works.
My art is an attempt to stop time.
When I paint women's portraits, it's as if I whisper to them: "Stop, moment—you are so beautiful!"
I am inspired by those brief, almost imperceptible moments when a person becomes truly visible—without posing, without protection, simply themselves.
The women in my paintings are not models, but reflections of inner strength, vulnerability, and beauty in simplicity.
I seek in every face that facet of light where life is hidden.
Children's portraits occupy a special place in my work. Adults strive to appear, while children strive simply to feel. And I strive to capture this pure feeling: delight, surprise, sadness, joy—everything that makes us alive. My paintings are more than just images. It is a dialogue with the moment.
