I am altering what was registered. I am basing my choices on aesthetics, instinct and intention. I don’t want to interpret this photo. I want the viewer to come up with their own story.
I can talk about how the idea of the”window” has been used through the centuries. In the Renaissance the whole picture frame acted as one. The window also acts as a picture within a picture and I see this happening here. I also see chiaroscuro as a formal element… that is found in different kinds of images, no matter the age or medium.
I don’t want to go any further; otherwise I would write about a situation like this instead of working with an image.
George-A. Makridis, a painter and digital artist, was initially drawn to the canvas by his mechanic father. He adeptly manipulates oil, water-based mediums, and digital interfaces, crafting works that defy conventional forms while experimenting with collage and mixed media. His connection to the environment, physical and spiritual, interweaves his artwork, using instinct rather than philosophy. His work reflects an earnest attempt at bonding with the world, hinting at a quest for goodness, an ephemeral touch we strive for yet never truly grasp.
