About this artwork
"One Tree Hill"
Mixed Media Diptych — Oil over Acrylic 18” x 24” each canvas (sold as set)
A contemplative diptych where textured layers of oil over acrylic converge to evoke both permanence and transience. One Tree Hill captures the quiet resilience of a solitary form against shifting waves of color, inviting viewers to reflect on strength, solitude, and the passage of time. The interplay of media creates depth and movement, with acrylic foundations… anchoring the composition while expressive oil strokes bring emotional resonance to the surface.
This work embodies Gery Kempczynski’s signature approach: minimalism enriched with narrative tension, where each canvas speaks individually yet completes the other as a unified whole.
A meditation on solitude and resilience, ideal for collectors seeking contemplative works.
Striking in modern interiors, especially above a console or in a reading nook where its quiet power can be felt.

Gery Kempczynski is a Chicago-based contemporary artist known for atmospheric abstract landscapes and expressive abstract works. His textured oil and acrylic paintings explore the emotional terrain between stillness and movement, blending minimalist restraint with layered depth. Through impasto knife work and gestural brush techniques, he builds surfaces that capture subtle shifts in light, color, and motion.
In his short time on Singulart, Gery has already placed four works with collectors — including the recent sale of Desert Sunrise to a private collector in Yvelines, France. Whether landscape-inspired or fully abstract, his paintings resonate with those seeking art that speaks softly but leaves a lasting impression.
