About this artwork
With this "Crucifixion," I'm not seeking a narrative representation of the sacred, but its essential trace, reduced to matter, wound, and tension. The pale, almost bare surface is interrupted by three nails that emerge as tangible signs of constraint and sacrifice. The composition is constructed through planes, joints, and slight material deviations, as if the image emerged from a poor, worn, and restrained structure.
The contrast between the bright… background and the dark presence of the nails concentrates the work in a minimal yet intense point. A small purple streak introduces a note of vulnerability, like the residue of a wound or the memory of an event already happened.
In this work, I approach the crucifixion as a human condition, even before it becomes a religious one: exposure, pain, resistance. The material does not illustrate, but preserves.
