About this artwork
With this work, I worked on a dark, almost mineral-like surface, traversed by a central form that seems to emerge like a time-worn slab. The small, precise marks, arranged in an irregular pattern, introduce a submerged rhythm: they don't decorate the surface, they interrogate it.
I was interested in taking painting into a more uncertain territory, closer to the object and the laboratory experiment. The material is layered, abraded, and marked,… until it generates an image that oscillates between industrial relic and mental landscape.
