About this artwork
This is part of a series where I was feeling my way through paintings and following the lead of the brush in forming the strange compositions and subject matter. The colours kept changing as I worked through the imagery and it is a piece which illustrates the way it its hard for me to paint beyond the bounds of my imagination. The strange enclosure is a sort-of boundary or threshold but it doesn't really contain the central figure.
