About this artwork
This is part of my series Encapsulated Gesture: small-format oil paintings created on recycled supports and housed within frames constructed from reclaimed gilt mouldings, carrying the marks of time. Each work carries the same gestural intensity and emotional weight as my larger canvases while held within a more intimate scale.

Gillian Holding, with a Fine Art degree from Leeds Metropolitan University and a background as a solicitor, works primarily in oil paint, embracing the physicality of her medium on both large canvases and intimate panels.
