About this artwork
Through my research on how food is shaped by geography and culture, I created large-scale murals for Sesc Casa Verde (240 m², PVA acrylic). Titled Hand, Earth, Fire, the project presents emblematic Brazilian foods as expressions of territory, identity, and the cycles that sustain life. The works engage with sustainable practices, valuing biodiversity, short supply chains, and traditional knowledge. Expanding beyond environmental concerns, they address… the preservation of cultural identities. Composed as endless patterns: “seas” of meat, fish, bananas, and garlic, the paintings create immersive, oceanic fields that shift scale and evoke a sense of vast, almost spiritual experience.

Giulia Bianchi is a painter, sculptor, and visual artist whose background blends rigorous academic training in São Paulo with international residencies in Paris and Switzerland. She primarily uses oil paint, oil stick, and dry pastel, drawing from Post-Impressionism and American Abstract Expressionism, shifting fluidly between figuration and abstraction. Her technique weaves texture and density into forms that suggest organic relationships, dissolving boundaries between subject and environment. Her art evokes a deep sensory connection to nature, inviting viewers to experience a perception that transcends mere representation and taps into the intuitive and the emotive.
