About this artwork
Non is a ceramic sculpture exploring the tension between concealment and presence. The fitted evening gown, with its soft pleats and strict silhouette, exudes elegance while evoking restraint and distance.
The upper section, with its folded collar and central button, recalls traditional nun attire, while the hollowed-out face intensifies the sense of absence. The ceramic material solidifies the form as a frozen figure.
As in my other works, the missing… human figure invites interpretation. Is this restrained femininity? A shell of someone who once was? Or a reflection on the intersection of spirituality and the body? To me, “Non” questions identity, symbolism, and the presence we leave behind.

- Works on commission
Bringing a background in graphic design and a passion for clay, Guy Hivroni produces ceramic works in Jerusalem that encapsulate his dedication to creation. His sculptures, shaped through wheel throwing and meticulous hand-building, embody a unique dynamism, enthusing life and story into the form of garments. The emotion within his pieces arises from the realization of the paradoxical presence in absence; suggesting an intimate human narrative beckoning for reflection and personalized interpretation, through the tangible representation of clothing.
