About this artwork
This work represents a state of early withdrawal, situated at the very beginning of the emergence process. After the initial overloads, the figure retreats into an ancient, familiar inner world, where perceptions are altered and the senses are distorted.
The unrealistic colors reflect this sensory alteration: reality is not yet rejected, but already filtered. The face seems to float in an intermediate space, suspended between presence and isolation.… There is no desire to go out yet, only the search for inner peace.
A subtle tension nonetheless runs through the figure. It doesn't break the silence, but it pervades it. This slight unease suggests that this withdrawal, while protective, may not be entirely stable. The work captures this fragile moment when the refuge begins to be questioned, before any action has yet been taken.
