About this artwork
This portrait was inspired by a presence that I find profoundly authentic. I wanted to paint a face marked by sincerity, intensity, and vulnerability—a face that does not seek to please, but simply to be true.
I worked with broad, deliberate strokes, letting the colors clash and overlap. The cool blues, ochres, and vibrant yellows sculpt the lines and create an expressive tension that I particularly like. This contrast between softness and roughness… reflects what I was trying to convey: a raw, unmasked humanity.
This portrait is for me a tribute to the power of authenticity, to those looks that carry a story and do not hide it.
