The darkness of night is not far away. The sun bathes the mountains and the sky in its warm light before it sets completely on the horizon, leaving the moon to reign supreme. The moon already stands majestically in the sky, and the woman's gaze is dreamily fixed on it. With her right hand, she touches the gnarled, old tree and feels its serene strength. The two are in timeless harmony. Only one question remains: Why is she wearing this dress?

Hans Batschauer is a German painter who exhibits nationally and internationally in both group and solo exhibitions.
Originally painting with oil and acrylic, since 2021 he has focused entirely on digital painting in the style of New Surrealism.
He creates “transformative and mysterious paintings,” as he himself writes, which convey a unique visual language of suggestive power in luminous colors.
In doing so, he does not imitate classical painting techniques, but creates complex hybrid compositions using a whole range of digital tools.
At the heart of his often symbolically and religiously charged picture stories is man with his feelings, dreams and longings.
