About this artwork
This work captures the mysterious tension between reality and metaphysics. The child on the bench represents curiosity and the search for the unknown, while the luminous figure at the end of the corridor embodies hope and transformation. The owl, of course, is the symbol of wisdom. The surreal colors and symbolic space invite the viewer to immerse themselves, to reflect on the limits of consciousness, and to let their gaze wander into the infinity…

Hans Batschauer is a German painter who exhibits nationally and internationally in both group and solo exhibitions.
Originally painting with oil and acrylic, since 2021 he has focused entirely on digital painting in the style of New Surrealism.
He creates “transformative and mysterious paintings,” as he himself writes, which convey a unique visual language of suggestive power in luminous colors.
In doing so, he does not imitate classical painting techniques, but creates complex hybrid compositions using a whole range of digital tools.
At the heart of his often symbolically and religiously charged picture stories is man with his feelings, dreams and longings.
