De titel Red Circle introduceert een subtiele spanning tussen wat we lezen en wat we zien. Het beeld toont een rood vierkant, maar de titel benoemt een cirkel — een vorm die afwezig is, maar impliciet aanwezig blijft als idee.
Hier ontstaat betekenis niet uit de zichtbare vorm, maar uit de relatie tussen taal en perceptie. De titel activeert een mentale cirkel die niet op het papier bestaat. Wat ontbreekt, wordt door het bewustzijn aangevuld. Het… werk toont zo hoe waarneming niet alleen visueel, maar ook conceptueel wordt gestuurd.
Red Circle maakt zichtbaar dat betekenis ontstaat in de ruimte tussen beeld en benoeming — waar het woord een vorm oproept die het oog niet kan bevestigen.
