About this artwork
It is a friend's head dissolved. It inspires me a lot in my work. That's why I took her portrait as inspiration. I dissolved this, as I have done several times this year in our joint performance "Black Lives Matter" and "Transformation through the Word - Homage to Christoph Schlingensief".

Ilona Ottenbreit is a German painter, sculptor and draftsman who has exhibited extensively in both solo and group events in Germany and the United Kingdom. Her works examine rhythm and movement, as it is the 'cause of our lives'. Ottenbreit's sculptures portray groups of people in movement, representing a collective connection, or oneness. She begins her process by sketching and examining motion, following the dancer with lines and recording what she can intuitively grasp.
