About this artwork
This gouache painting was created from life in Rovinj, Croatia, during I stay at a hotel of the Maistra Hospitality Group. Painted on the last day before Christmas, the work carries a personal and intimate atmosphere shaped by travel, winter stillness, and a temporary studio space away from home.
The blooming red amaryllis becomes a symbol of warmth and quiet intensity, standing in contrast to the cooler tones of the surrounding space. Expressive… brushstrokes and vibrant color reflect direct observation and an emotional connection to the moment — the calm of a hotel interior, the pause before the holiday, and the presence of the living.

I am a Vienna-based artist originally from Kyiv, Ukraine. Passionate about painting since childhood, I studied at the art school of the Teacher’s House in Kyiv. After a successful career as an economist and banker, I returned to my creative roots, working in watercolor, oil, and later acrylics.
Since moving to Austria in 2019, I have honed my skills through private lessons, courses at the Vienna Adult Education Centre (VHS), and online studies with Natalia Nosyk’s art school. My works have been exhibited and recognized in competitions. My art reflects a confident use of color, light, and composition, inspired by nature, seascapes, and still life.
