About this artwork
This gouache painting was created from life in the Salzburg region and captures a quiet, personal moment — a winter walk with my son. Our elongated blue shadows stretch across the snowy road, becoming a key emotional element of the composition.
I was drawn to the clarity of the cold winter day: the deep blue sky, the snow-covered mountains in the distance, and the pine trees lining the path. The figures are intentionally simplified, allowing the… focus to remain on light, space, and the feeling of togetherness. Working in gouache helped me preserve the softness of the snow and the immediacy of painting directly from life.

I am a Vienna-based artist originally from Kyiv, Ukraine. Passionate about painting since childhood, I studied at the art school of the Teacher’s House in Kyiv. After a successful career as an economist and banker, I returned to my creative roots, working in watercolor, oil, and later acrylics.
Since moving to Austria in 2019, I have honed my skills through private lessons, courses at the Vienna Adult Education Centre (VHS), and online studies with Natalia Nosyk’s art school. My works have been exhibited and recognized in competitions. My art reflects a confident use of color, light, and composition, inspired by nature, seascapes, and still life.
