About this artwork
The Azulejos I-VIII series is inspired by details of weathered Moorish floor tiles. For centuries, people have walked on them, leaving their mark. The ornament, with its ceramic color, has partially worn away. The remaining pieces of color combine with the weathered structures to create an abstract composition: I call this aesthetic, resulting from the combination of nature and culture, LIFE STRUCTURES.
