About this artwork
The template for the picture was created during one of my study trips to Sri Lanka. I visited the colonial home of the Sinhalese landscape architect Bevis Bawa. The special garden area, a former rubber plantation, is located in the middle of the jungle. In the garden you will find reptiles and monkeys and much more (Note: Bevis was the brother of Geoffrey Bawa, the most famous architect in Sri Lanka, who combined architecture, art and nature in his…
own unique way.) The complex was designed in harmony with the Nature created. It is a very special place that radiates peace.
The picture shows part of the terrace with a colonial-style chair that happens to be there. The view goes through two white brick pillars 'out' into the wild garden.
