Isabelle shared that lots of memories unfolded as she finished this little painting. When she was a little girl, her dad, who was born in 1910, would tell her stories of the cowboys in the foothills of Alberta, Canada (where she grew up), who knew the Blackfoot and witnessed the Sun Dance, and he’d recall terrible winters as a boy on his farm when cattle and horses died and only buffalo remained immune to the cold. There are still places in Alberta… where real ranching, roping and rodeo traditions thrive. Because most of the ranches in southern Alberta haven't changed much in a 100 years, there are still so many places where it feels like you’re stepping back in time. This is painting is a nod to that time. “Ride ‘Em” is 12” x 12” acrylic and ink on wood panel. It is set in a 1.5" deep floating frame, and is ready to hang. In the detail photos you'll see Ride Em's partner (or pardner, Texas style), called Counting Stars.
« Beautiful art comes from inspiration. Inspiration comes from being present, from feeling alive. That's what art is for. »
