About this artwork
Six Black Dots is an acrylic painting on a cradled birch wood panel. This piece is evidence of a masterful understanding of the design principle of contrast. The artist places six little black dots and uses red next to the creamiest of whites to attract your eye. She also creates beautiful contrasts of shapes, markings, textures, alignments, and sizes. In further contrast to the contemporary design, the natural birch wood edges of the panel (the… cradle) are unpainted and sealed with a thin coat of cold wax to expose the beauty of the wood. The artist did not intend this piece for a frame. It is ready to hang as is.
« Beautiful art comes from inspiration. Inspiration comes from being present, from feeling alive. That's what art is for. »
