This is WHEN YOU SMILE - Like a smile, this piece has the power to light up a room? The artist started this piece to try to capture the infectious act of a smile. Countless studies show the physical act of smiling actually activates pathways in your brain that influence your emotional state — so by putting on a happy facial expression, you can "trick" your mind into entering a state of happiness. Smiling not only has the ability to elevate your mood,… it can also improve the moods of others. The artist's goal is that this piece achieves that too. “When You Smile” is 12” x 12” acrylic on birch wood panel, set in a natural maple wood floating frame. This is a classic example of the artist's skill in building up layers of color and design, then sanding back into the work to reveal the beautiful history of the layers. This piece is finished with a thin layer of cold wax to reduce glare. Please see the additional detail photos.
« Beautiful art comes from inspiration. Inspiration comes from being present, from feeling alive. That's what art is for. »
