About this artwork
This is one in a series called, Dreams and Premonitions, which got its start in 2020. I allow whatever the paint wants to say to live on the canvas, dreaming without preconditions. When i see something emerge, in this case a man in a conquistador outfit with a parrot on his shoulder, I bring it to an understandable image. Because there are no guardrails, what comes out usually stays.
I worked on the canvas in a direct way, scraping, brushing and… layering the paint, until it was satisfying. I don't worry about what it means, just as I don't try to make sense of my dreams. Nevertheless, there is a story here...
