Antonio José Cavanilles (1745-1804), in his fundamental work Observations on the Natural History, Geography, Agriculture, population and fruits of the Kingdom of Valencia (1795-1797), meticulously documented the agricultural landscape of the Moncada area and surroundings.
His observations, especially relevant to the dryland area and the nearby hills, highlight the importance of carob trees and vineyards in the economic structure of the time; he… does not see it as a picturesque place, but as a cultivated landscape.
Hence my Historical Landscapes series, a way of giving presence to that centuries-old nature and ensuring it doesn't go unnoticed.

A contemporary photographer with over three decades of experience. My artistic practice is deeply rooted in observation and an essential connection to the primary elements of nature. Through my lens, I explore the delicate balance between the small and the ephemeral, capturing details that often go unnoticed by the casual observer.
My work is characterized by a search for silence, stillness, and a genuine encounter with the landscape, giving rise to what I call invisible landscapes. One of my main collections, Fragments of Ephemeral Nature, was captured in the historical setting of the Iberian settlement of Tòs Pelat, in Moncada, Valencia. This series transforms natural fragments into evocative and imaginary landscapes, designed to generate a sense of calm and visual well-being, especially for spaces that seek essence rather than saturation.
