About this artwork
Abstracted Memories series. Looking back at an earlier time. This work is actually painted on a stiff art board and is framed under plexiglass. Petit Tetons is a title that came to me when I finished my painting and as I often do, I began a dialogue with my little creative child. "Who are you?" I asked. "Take a good look at me, what do you SEE?" answered my painting, "Well, I think you look like two small breasts, and I'm thinking of the Grand Tetons…
in the West, but you are much smaller, so I will call you Petit Tetons and hope that the French people will be understanding of my use or ab-use of their beautiful language." And my painting, looked back at me and replied "Merci!" I have been a Francophile my entire life! I tried teaching myself the language as a young girl. Sadly I am not the linguist that my late father was. One of my dearest friends lives in France and I love when I can visit!
