About this artwork
Oaxacan Sunset is based on two alebriges (Oaxacan wood carvings) I have collected from Mexico. These carvings are altered in shape and color (patterns) by myself to create the composition I want and illustrate my meaning in presentation. In this story I have a predator (large cat) and prey (stag) back to back to describe their nightly "competition".
