About this artwork
Fallen Tree is a work that uses the image of a fallen tree as a metaphor for the artist's fragility. Although seemingly solid, the creator is vulnerable; he can collapse and be relegated to memory as a vestige.
The female figure observing the trunk underlines the distance between the monumentality of the tree and human fragility: what seemed unbreakable collapses, reminding us that the artistic trajectory is marked by precariousness, loneliness,… and the constant possibility of being forgotten.
In its silence, Fallen Tree speaks of falling, of weakness, and of the fading mark, but also of the dignity found in embracing that fragility as an essential part of the artist's condition.
