OK, I know these last 3 paintings may seem like another stylistic adjustment that is potentially off putting to collectors looking for a more synchronistic body of work, but sometimes the paint just wants to speak a different love language...wants a little more spice for the soul. Who am I to judge? That said, the clarity and source that defines all of my work… as a concentric body is experimentation...the not-so missing like and my true artistic love language.
This one is after the cult classic movie called "The Warriors", a favorite of mine...only in this portrait I'm giving a visual shout-out to the villain, Luther, leader of The (notorious) Rogues who was a defining role in all the glory that is this film. His danger is obvious, psychosis uncertain but certainly entertaining in his dedicated pursuit of mischief and mayhem.
« Either way, my message for the viewer is simple. Enjoy my work for its visual elements. Experience the excitement of the micro, macro, and then the subliminal. Rinse and repeat. »
Jon Parlangeli is a passionate American painter and sculptor who has widely exhibited his work throughout the U.S. Fascinated by the process of creation, he composes works that experiment with color and the physicality of paint. Parlangeli's creations stand out for their depth and tactility, appearing as explosions of bright color and unexpected shapes. Parlangeli additionally includes a representational balance of nature and humanity in his work, that merges with abstract elements to create a kind of historic bibliophile hidden in the paint.
