About this artwork
THIS ARTWORK IS IN A SHOW UNTIL NOVEMBER 1ST. I WILL PUT IT BACK UP FOR SALE ONCE IT COMES BACK.
The energy in this portrait pops off the canvas as the red flowers act as a movement mechanism for the balance of color and form. I get a visceral reaction to the texture and used it to move the eye though the painting, allowing for breaks to study technique, than right back around again it takes ya!

« Either way, my message for the viewer is simple. Enjoy my work for its visual elements. Experience the excitement of the micro, macro, and then the subliminal. Rinse and repeat. »
Jon Parlangeli is a passionate American painter and sculptor who has widely exhibited his work throughout the U.S. Fascinated by the process of creation, he composes works that experiment with color and the physicality of paint. Parlangeli's creations stand out for their depth and tactility, appearing as explosions of bright color and unexpected shapes. Parlangeli additionally includes a representational balance of nature and humanity in his work, that merges with abstract elements to create a kind of historic bibliophile hidden in the paint.
