About this artwork
COMPLETED 11/16 AND DRYING. SHIPS LATE DECEMBER 2024.
I was contacted by a client looking for a commission based off of another of my works that sold, and, as I always do, I informed them that my process is very intuitive, yet random...a bit like action painting with a more emotional edge and idea of direction. These works are also subject to the process itself, so they can never be exact. With all that I had an absolute blast mixing these custom… colors and literally digging and dragging paint around the canvas to create the visual effects. As for the theme, and as I did recently, who doesn't like to get dressed for a dinner party with great bourbon!

« Either way, my message for the viewer is simple. Enjoy my work for its visual elements. Experience the excitement of the micro, macro, and then the subliminal. Rinse and repeat. »
Jon Parlangeli is a passionate American painter and sculptor who has widely exhibited his work throughout the U.S. Fascinated by the process of creation, he composes works that experiment with color and the physicality of paint. Parlangeli's creations stand out for their depth and tactility, appearing as explosions of bright color and unexpected shapes. Parlangeli additionally includes a representational balance of nature and humanity in his work, that merges with abstract elements to create a kind of historic bibliophile hidden in the paint.
