About this artwork
"Fundstück 3" is a dynamic, high-contrast painting and an expressive eye-catcher. Details from nature serve as inspiration for the "Fundstücke" series, which began in 2020. This work is reminiscent of a tree stump, or maybe a plant structure in the forest ...?
The charcoal drawing as the basis for the abstract work shimmers through again and again and gives the overall picture a narrative character and a dynamic of its own. High-quality acrylic… paints and the varnish with a fine silk gloss ensure that the work is well protected for a long time. The edges of the stretcher are carefully painted.
The works of Judith Riemer exude joie de vivre and appreciate nature. With her work, the artist would like to contribute something to making people happy and relaxed and having a good mood. She is convinced that this is exactly what is needed to motivate people to want to make the world a little better themselves!
« I paint the moment where movement and stillness touch – rooted in an inner rhythm, grown from the nature-bound vastness of my childhood. »
Judith Riemer is a German abstract artist whose atmospheric works emerge from the interplay of movement and stillness. Influenced by her previous work as an interior designer, she explores the effects of atmosphere, light, and visual tranquility within a space.
After studying interior design, she continuously developed her artistic practice as a freelance painter. Her works are predominantly oil on canvas. Gestures, traces, layering, and deliberate reduction characterize her working process and create pictorial spaces of quiet tension and atmospheric depth.
Transitions are central to her work – moments of change, of pausing, and of becoming open. Light, rhythm, and reduced color palettes create works that do not seek to explain or capture, but rather to open space for individual perception.
Judith Riemer lives and works in Lower Saxony, Germany.
