About this artwork
*Drift II* combines cool blue and petrol tones with light gray and warm beige areas. Generous forms overlap and are complemented by broad brushstrokes, fine lines, and visible textures. The interplay between dense and open areas defines the composition.
This work belongs to the *Re:Form* series, in which larger forms and areas of color take center stage. Layering, overpainting, and deliberate reduction remain essential components of the design.

As a self-taught artist, Julia Eckardt works at the intersection of intuition and structure. Her works emerge from a free, experimental process using acrylics and mixed media. Layering, textures, and typography are central elements of her artistic practice.
"Each work is created step by step – through color, texture, gesture, and the use of diverse materials. Layers simultaneously conceal and reveal, inviting a deeper look and a lingering experience in the tension between form and dissolution. I am interested in what remains beneath the surface: traces, the echo of forms, the sediment of the process. My working method is intuitive and open to response."
