About this artwork
In *Parallax I*, dark, earthy color traces run through a predominantly light composition of ice blue, off-white, and warm sandy tones. Particularly striking is the broad, irregular structure in the upper part of the image, which stretches across the canvas like a broken line.
Below, calmer areas open up, revealing fine scratch marks, splashes of paint, and occasional black lines. A dark, arcing brushstroke in the lower part of the image provides… a deliberate counterpoint. The different surfaces and partially concealed traces hint at the creative process without fully revealing it.
This work belongs to the *Beyond the Visible* series.

As a self-taught artist, Julia Eckardt works at the intersection of intuition and structure. Her works emerge from a free, experimental process using acrylics and mixed media. Layering, textures, and typography are central elements of her artistic practice.
"Each work is created step by step – through color, texture, gesture, and the use of diverse materials. Layers simultaneously conceal and reveal, inviting a deeper look and a lingering experience in the tension between form and dissolution. I am interested in what remains beneath the surface: traces, the echo of forms, the sediment of the process. My working method is intuitive and open to response."
