About this artwork
*Red Shift II* combines vibrant reds and pinks with warm earth tones, dark accents, and generous white areas. Gestural applications of paint, graphic patterns, and partially overlapping fragments of text create a complex, multi-layered composition.
Bold, angular forms meet transparent layers of color and delicate linear structures. The repeated covering and revealing of individual elements creates a dynamic interplay between density and openness.… The light areas connect different parts of the image and simultaneously lend calm to the dynamic composition.
This work belongs to the *Beyond the Visible* series.

As a self-taught artist, Julia Eckardt works at the intersection of intuition and structure. Her works emerge from a free, experimental process using acrylics and mixed media. Layering, textures, and typography are central elements of her artistic practice.
"Each work is created step by step – through color, texture, gesture, and the use of diverse materials. Layers simultaneously conceal and reveal, inviting a deeper look and a lingering experience in the tension between form and dissolution. I am interested in what remains beneath the surface: traces, the echo of forms, the sediment of the process. My working method is intuitive and open to response."
