About this artwork
With Naya,
I wanted to create a figure that escapes definition.
The face appears frontal and direct, yet never fully fixed. Layers of lines build the image while simultaneously letting it slip away. Colors circulate freely across the surface, creating a tension between control and release.
Part of my Humanizer series, this work explores the roles and identities that society constantly projects onto us.
Naya resists those labels. She is not here… to fit into a category or to represent an idea.
She simply exists — freely, instinctively, without justification.
