ART MUST SOUND
Painting as a physical process

For me, painting is far more than the visual representation of an idea; it is the documentation of emotions through action. Just as a sound requires a physical vibration, a picture is created through the movement, pressure, resistance, and tempo of the arm—the hand.

Pigments and oil are applied, blurred, smeared, and then removed. Through this dynamic manipulation of the surface, pigments are revealed or stand in sudden contrast to one another. Chance also plays a role, as not every result can be planned in advance. Rather, it emerges from the dialogue between the artist's intention and the physical properties of the materials.

The end result is a multi-layered surface that bears the story of its own creation – a silent echo of the movements that brought it about.
