About this artwork
SEAngles are based on photos that I took on my travels around the world, transformed and placed in new contexts. Each SEAngle is unique: a collage of photos, hard foam boards, fabric, paper cutting, found objects, mixed media and acrylic. The SEAmaps combine the love of the sea, the collection of old maps and nautical charts, the fascination for ships, containers and ports with the desire to travel and the joy of "getting lost" - in foreign places,…

At first glance, the SEAmaps look like maps, with strange, sometimes familiar shapes of cities, countries and continents, but in impossible combinations. Layer by layer, these are placed on top of each other, a lot happens on the edges, the coasts, but just as much happens under the surface - just like in the sea itself.
