About this artwork
the SEAngles are based on details from the large SEAmaps, which have been transformed and placed in new contexts. Each SEAngle is unique: a collage of photos, foam, fabric, paper cut, found objects, mixed media and acrylic. All SEAngles are also available in handmade frames (40 x 40 cm / black or white).
Her central approach is the collage - the dismantling, assembling, combining of elements from other contexts and their integration into new perspectives,… scenes and actions. In the SEAmaps, the love for the sea, the collecting of old land and sea maps, the fascination are combined for ships, containers and ports with the desire to travel and the joy of "getting lost" - in foreign areas, bygone times, somewhere between cities, countries, islands and oceans.
