About this artwork
I've interwoven acrylic and oil in this artwork to birth a tapestry of timelessness. Each stroke is emotionally drenched, an abstract vintage dance of hues bridging realities. The greens and blues evoke nature's tranquility while splashes of warmth whisper stories of yesteryear. Bringing this piece into your space will infuse it with a serene yet spirited energy, a homage to the beautiful complexity of our existence. I begin by digitally blending…
all kinds of pictures, and after printing the result, I create massive structures on top of them and finish the piece by painting every detail with water-based oil paint. In this way, digital becomes tangible again. This abstract is a unique artwork mounted on a high-quality 3D aluminum frame.

« I combine the digital and tangible, so I combine two worlds together. »
Karin Vermeer is an independent artist who has lived and worked in Rotterdam since 2002. Her works are created by digitally combining and editing photographs and paintings into new, original works of art. Vermeer specializes in portraits created by overlaying and blending four to five different faces, of different race and origin, to create a new, non existing person. The digital images are printed and paint is added to achieve the final result: an attempt to make a digital image tangible once again.
