About this artwork
An original watercolor of a collection of Chinoiserie china displayed in an exotic room. “Chinoiserie” is a beautiful term borrowed from the French word for Chinese, “Chinois,” and is used to describe the European interpretation and inclusion of Chinese and East Asian art in decor.
If you look closely at the details in this painting, you'll see that each of the plates, vases, and tiles in the table top has a different pattern, many have birds on… them. I painted this with my usual style of layered paint, this had an especially nice effect on the red wall and chair making them look rich and velvety.
The red creates an inviting and fabulous backdrop for the decorative china, the chair is a lovely accent and the view into the cool, green-gray room is refreshing.
This gorgeous and very unique artwork is painted with Rembrandt professional watercolor paints on 100% cotton, 300gsm French Arches paper. It is painted to the edges which are deckled.
