"Island of Volcanoes"
Small in scale, this work opens up a landscape that appears to be seen from above — a contemporary, drone-like perspective that is both distant and immersive. A curved lilac band, resembling a shoreline, outlines an island whose serpentine shape suggests a living, breathing form suspended between water and sky.
The cool, restrained palette evokes a sense of calm and beauty, yet beneath this tranquillity lies a subtle unease.… The island appears fragile and isolated; its shape hints at hidden forces and inner tension inherent to volcanic landscapes. It is a beauty charged with premonition — a reminder that nature can be both alluring and dangerous, and that beneath apparent harmony future upheavals may be quietly forming.
Despite its intimate size, the work carries a sense of vastness, inviting reflection on distance and perspective, on the dual nature of beauty, and on the delicate balance between contemplation and quiet.

I am inspired by life in all its manifestations — from a dewdrop on the grass to clouds dissolving on the horizon. My work draws on both the visible world and realities beyond immediate perception, where a simple detail can become the starting point for a new artwork.
Rooted in my Siberian birthplace and shaped by a classical art education in Russia, my practice reflects a deep connection with nature and a long-standing fascination with people. I work across painting, photography, video, and digital media, creating multilayered visual narratives that explore perception, presence, and transformation.

Alongside planned projects, I photograph daily, guided by a selective and attentive gaze drawn to overlooked details that spark new ideas. These moments often initiate long-term projects, developed over time through carefully curated images from different places and periods.
