About this artwork
In a world where roads race ahead and cities appear as fleeting points on a map, the modern nomad no longer relies on camels, dogs, or reindeer. His home fits in a pocket and in the backpack: a bank card, a smartphone, a laptop. Versatile clothing lets him, upon arriving in a new city, merge effortlessly with its rhythm—at a party, in a club, among lights and music.
In this image, there is an attempt to convey the spirit of freedom, romance, travel,… and self-confidence, combined with the adventurous spirit of ancient nomads and the ease of the new style of modern traveler’s life.
Unique mixed-media work (1/1), combining my hand-painted watercolor with a digitally transformed photograph. Printed on high-quality photographic paper, laminated with a protective film, mounted on foam board and presented in a professionally made black frame with silver detailing.

I explore time as a living substance.
Through light, reflection, shadow and transformation, I seek to reveal the invisible presence of time and the traces it leaves behind. Working across painting, photography and moving image, I explore the hidden forces that shape nature and human experience, connecting the fleeting moment with eternity and the visible with the unseen.
Born in Novokuznetsk, Russia, in 1959, I have lived and worked in the Netherlands since 1991. I studied at the Kemerovo Regional Art Academy and the Stroganov Academy of Industrial Art and Design in Moscow, graduating with distinction.
My work has been presented in more than 100 solo and group exhibitions internationally and has received awards and nominations in international art, photography and film competitions. My artistic practice also includes books, films, lectures and commissioned portraits. My work is held in museum, public and private collections internationally.
