Prediction reflects on youth as a precious state of innocence, openness and curiosity. A young woman emerges within a soft, rose-tinted atmosphere, looking towards a future still hidden from her. When we are young, we long to know what lies ahead and often try to hurry time. Yet the painting suggests that this fleeting period, when life is still unwritten and almost everything remains possible, should be allowed to last. Its vast, nearly empty space…
evokes a clear consciousness and the beauty of not knowing.
On the right appears an imagined green Venus — the planet of love and an unknown future. From it emerges a fine red line, created with actual thread stitched directly into the canvas. It forms an ambiguous sign resembling an angel’s wing, a heart or a wheel of fate. This tactile detail makes the work unique, while the fragility of the thread echoes the delicacy of youth, awakening love and a future yet to be lived.

I explore time as a living substance.
Through light, reflection, shadow and transformation, I seek to reveal the invisible presence of time and the traces it leaves behind. Working across painting, photography and moving image, I explore the hidden forces that shape nature and human experience, connecting the fleeting moment with eternity and the visible with the unseen.
Born in Novokuznetsk, Russia, in 1959, I have lived and worked in the Netherlands since 1991. I studied at the Kemerovo Regional Art Academy and the Stroganov Academy of Industrial Art and Design in Moscow, graduating with distinction.
My work has been presented in more than 100 solo and group exhibitions internationally and has received awards and nominations in international art, photography and film competitions. My artistic practice also includes books, films, lectures and commissioned portraits. My work is held in museum, public and private collections internationally.
