Before us is a vivid and intriguing work, capable of perplexing even an experienced viewer who is used to distinguishing painting from photography at first glance. This piece contains an intellectual game, a visual riddle, and a pure delight in form. The composition seems constructed according to the laws of drawing: diagonals, parallel lines, ovals, and rectangles create a complex rhythm. Yet all this visual architecture was born… not from a brush or digital manipulation — it is pure photography.
The author seems to suggest that a picture can be created not only with paint, but with light. It is a kind of ode to the Sun: a source of energy that, in the hands of an attentive observer, also becomes a source of art. The artist’s task is to see magic in reality and present it to the viewer. It is in this ability to recognize the extraordinary within the ordinary that the potential brilliance of the creator lies.

I explore time as a living substance.
Through light, reflection, shadow and transformation, I seek to reveal the invisible presence of time and the traces it leaves behind. Working across painting, photography and moving image, I explore the hidden forces that shape nature and human experience, connecting the fleeting moment with eternity and the visible with the unseen.
Born in Novokuznetsk, Russia, in 1959, I have lived and worked in the Netherlands since 1991. I studied at the Kemerovo Regional Art Academy and the Stroganov Academy of Industrial Art and Design in Moscow, graduating with distinction.
My work has been presented in more than 100 solo and group exhibitions internationally and has received awards and nominations in international art, photography and film competitions. My artistic practice also includes books, films, lectures and commissioned portraits. My work is held in museum, public and private collections internationally.
