About this artwork
"Dzherelo" (The Source) is my quiet dedication to the origins of life, purity, and inner peace. The female figure standing by the deep blue water symbolizes a soul in search of harmony, while the stylized images of animals beside her evoke our inseparable, almost mystical connection to the nature of my native Transcarpathia.
For me, this is more than just a subject because it is a sanctuary for contemplation. I sincerely hope that anyone who looks… at this artwork will feel a sense of serenity, rediscover their own inner source of strength, and touch the timeless beauty that flows through all living things.

Larisa Brovdi is a Ukrainian painter and tapestry artist educated at the Uzhhorod College of Applied Arts, whose career is deeply rooted in the Transcarpathian School of Painting. She works in lyrical symbolism, neo-primitivism, and decorative painting, masterfully blending bold impasto textures with exquisite color harmonies.
Alongside her husband Ivan Brovdi, she represented Ukrainian art during a major National Exhibition tour across the USA (Washington, New York, San Francisco, LA). Following this, her tapestries were exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, and the Kunsthalle in Budapest.
As a celebrated master, she has held dozens of solo exhibitions across Ukraine and Europe, including retrospectives in Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, Kyiv, and projects in Hungary. Her work radiates serenity, dignity, and spiritual stillness.
