About this artwork
This painting belongs to the series of the same name. It is the amused evocation of the brute force that constitutes our human nature and of the antagonisms inherent in all existence. Rocks, black earth and warriors, fully armed from its depths, clash in a pale and milky light. The scarified body-armor, as engraved in the fresh oil paint, reveals the essentially masculine (?) Anatomy of war.
This series is painted with glycerophthalic paint on metal,… it is shiny and can present due to the relative fineness of the glued sheet therefore "stretched" on a wooden frame, folds and scratches which may for some be penalizing, but which are again linked to the very nature of war !!
