"EXOT1" functions as an archive of a boundary state, capturing the precise tension between organic life and rigid structure. Rather than rendering a literal landscape, the artwork presents ethereal, exotic shapes and fading geometric lines strictly as an unfolding process of transformation. It investigates the internal ecology of memory, creating an existential space where sharp definitions dissolve into a serene, meditative atmosphere.
With this… piece from 2024, I wanted to explore the concept of the "exotic" as an internal state of mind rather than a physical place. The diagonal, structured angles represent the frameworks through which we perceive reality, while the fluid foliage symbolises our intuitive, fading memories. By utilising transparent blue watercolour washes, I captured the exact threshold where the external world recedes and inner clarity begins.
