About this artwork
"Solitude": this work derives from an unpublished sketch by De Chirico from 1916, which the Master of Metaphysics never painted; It was the first of a series of paintings that I created based on some unpublished sketches never painted by De Chirico; The choice to bring this drawing into painting derives from the fact that the environment described was the one that could be seen from the structure of the "Villa del Seminario", the place where De Chirico…
stayed for over six months and which I saw numerous times during my visits to this ancient 18th century episcopal structure (now Città del Ragazzo in Aguscello - Ferrara) and where I wanted to place copies of my paintings on permanent display.
